A new public art installation at ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai uses artificial intelligence to bring data on an ancient civilisation to life.
The architectural data sculpture, entitled
Datamonolith_AI, was conceived by regional new media studio Ouchhh. It was created using data from the pre-Pottery Neolithic period that has been processed through a series of algorithms.
Digital information is represented on four LED panels comprised of three billion pixels and images collected from Turkey’s Gobekli Tepe archaeological site in

The UAE's Month of Reading: Hundreds of workshops and events planned in March to celebrate the written word

SHARE
For the past few years, the month of March has been officially dedicated to literary pursuits in the UAE.
It all started in 2017, following the Year of Reading in 2016. In October of that year, the President, Sheikh Khalifa announced a Reading Law that obliged schools to encourage reading among pupils, in addition to promoting a respect for books.
He also launched the Arab Reading Challenge, the largest Arab knowledge initiative in the world, in 2015.
That love of literature has only arguably
become stronger since many of us have spent more time than ever at home with our noses in books during the pandemic.

Bahrain's Unesco-listed Pearling Path project to be completed by the end of 2021

SHARE
Until recently, it was impossible to journey the entirety of Bahrain’s Pearling Path on foot.
The serial Unesco World Heritage Site was disconnected from the coastline via a highway, but that has now changed with the opening of a new pedestrian bridge.
Now, it’s possible for visitors to walk continuously from the coastline of Bu Maher – the last remaining coastline of Muharraq – to Halat bu Maher, and then along the rest of the 3.5-kilometre pathway, taking in all 17 heritage houses and the fort that make up this vast site. Three oyster beds in Bahrain’s northern waters are also part of the trail.

Some also serve up gourmet treats for pooches, too.
There are even three restaurants on this list that actually give you a discount for bringing your dog along.
