Leaders of Congress in both parties are condemning controversial Republican Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently compared COVID-19 mask mandates to requirements put on Jewish people during the Holocaust.
Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy called her statements appalling, while Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer described them as sickening Monday morning.
Greene who has been a lightening rod for her controversial statements over the U.S. presidential election, refusal to wear a mask on the House floor, and attacks on Democratic lawmakers that ultimately led to her removal from all committee assignments has repeatedly compared the masks that have curbed the ongoing coronavirus pandemic to the gold stars that Jews were required to wear during the Holocaust. ....

Two moderate U.S. Senate Democrats known for independent streaks on Tuesday urged Republicans to support a bipartisan probe of the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, after one in six House Republicans broke with their leadership and backed a bill.

Capitol accredits private health insurer for 16 provincial, district hospitals

THE Cebu Provincial Government signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with CareHealth Plus Systems International Inc. on May 19, 2021 to signify the accreditation of the health maintenance organization (HMO) as a health insurer in the 16 provincial and district hospitals in Cebu Province.
This means that members of CareHealth and their dependents can avail themselves of emergency consultation and treatment, out-patient services, and medical and surgical in-patient services in Capitol-owned hospitals, granting they secure a letter of authority from the insurer.
The accreditation involves an investment of a cash bond of P200,000 from CareHealth, which will be returned to the company upon the termination of the contract. ....
