Everything you need in life is on your bike, there’s such a sense of adventure and simplicity.”

FHS graduates earn over $2 million in scholarships Chivington Wardle FAIRBORN — A total of 241 students from Fairborn High School will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas at the Wright State University Nutter Center this Friday. The class of 2021 has earned more than $2 million in scholarships from 25 universities. Fairborn graduates will also be enlisting into the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, Marine Corps, and Air National Guard. “We are proud of the class of 2021,” Fairborn High School Principal Brian McKnight said. “They have been a part of an incredible journey and this year is no different. As a class, they have endured challenges and obstacles unlike any other and yet they continued to thrive, learn, and make the best out out what they were handed. They refused to quit and because of that, they continued putting one foot in front of the other until their goals were met. We are so proud of the class of 2021 and we wish them nothing but the best moving forward.”

The Tackling Transfer initiative states the challenge clearly: “Few students who enter community college intending to get a bachelor’s degree ever do.” It’s an issue we’ve seen in Dayton, Ohio. Though a mere 1.5 miles separate the University of Dayton and Sinclair Community College -- one of the largest, most highly ranked and successful community colleges in the country -- some talented students still could not see an attractive path to a high-quality four-year degree. To address the roadblocks facing transfer students, we created a new partnership in 2016, the UD Sinclair Academy. It goes beyond the traditional articulation agreements we have always had in place to offer students key benefits: dual admission, completely transparent and up-front four-year pricing, clear academic pathways that allow them to earn an associate and bachelor’s degree, coordinated advising on both campuses, and even the opportunity to participate fully in the university community while completing an associate degree at Sinclair.
