KENDALLVILLE â Senior citizens whoâve been confined at home during the winter and the coronavirus pandemic can look forward to a little joy soon in the form of Fun Packs of games, puzzles, activities, snacks and personal items. The Noble County Council on Aging and Noble Transit is accepting donations of new items to assemble the packs. Noble Transit is planning for delivery to homebound seniors in mid-March. Cherish Smith, executive director of the council on aging, said the idea started as a school project. âThe project was suggested by the daughter of a dispatcher who is in high school,â Smith said. âShe had the idea for a school project at Impact (Institute).â ....
There can be little doubt that Americans love their doughnuts. The German database company Statista, which specializes in market and consumer data, reported that over 201 million Americans consumed doughnuts at some point in 2020. According to the question and answer website Quora, the average American eats 31 doughnuts each year, and the nation’s more than 25,000 doughnut shops make over 10 billion of the country’s favorite pastry annually. When one factors in convenience stores and grocery stores with bakeries, there are at least 30 establishments in Tazewell County to pick up a selection of doughnuts. Tasty Donuts Expands Into Frozen Desserts At Cambridge Square Friday, January 8, 2021 Tasty Donuts, which supplies fresh donuts and other pastries, has announced it will be expanding its concept in 2021 by opening Tasty Scoops & Sweets, a gelato and candy shop that will be located in the Cambridge Square community in Ooltewah. Tasty Donuts already has an existing store in Cambridge that opened in 2018. This new venture will be located in an approximately 1,800 square foot space just across the public square with a projected opening for spring of this year. Both enterprises are owned and operated by founder Tony McInnis. “Since opening, Tony and his team have made thousands of Cambridge Square patrons very happy,” said Jim Cheney who oversees marketing for the development. ....
