　　百年来，惠州党组织和广大党员干部始终牢记初心使命，始终把人民放在心中最高位置，坚持一切为了人民、一切依靠人民，保持同人民群众的血肉联系，依靠人民取得革命战争胜利，也带领人民不断创造美好生活，朝着共同富裕目标不断迈进。
　　带领人民争自由和权利。经过浴血奋战、艰辛拼搏，1949年10月惠州解放，惠州人民终于站立起来了，当家做主人，开始建设新生活。在社会主义经济制度逐步建立的同时，社会主义民主政治不断发展，人民群众有序参与政治生活，民主权利得到充分保障。改革开放以来，惠州坚持“一手抓民主、一手抓法治”，积极发挥群众主体作用，不断完善基层群众自治制度，创造了许多先进经验。2005年，龙门县永汉镇马星村探索试行“四民主工作法”，通过“民主提事、民主决事、民主理事、民主监事”，充分发挥村民民主自治权利，相关经验在全省推广，被评为第一届“全国基层党建创新案例”最佳案例。2009年起探索建立村（居）委会“法制副主任”工作制度，负责指导村（居）委会依法开展工作，开展法律咨询和讲座，提供法律援助，依法调处各类矛盾纠纷等，是新时期基层治理的创新尝试。2016年，全国普法办将相关经验向全国推广，被誉为依法治国方略的“乡土实践”。
　　带领人民创造富足生活。新中国成立后，特别是改革开放以来，惠州人民生活水平逐步提高。从1988年到2019年，城镇居民人均可支配收入、农村居民人均纯收入分别增加了27倍、28倍多。多年来，持续实施民生财政，新增财力70%以上投入民生，各项民生事业日益发展，“惠民之州”品牌越擦越亮。2012年在全省率先开展基本公共服务均等化改革，创新工作机制，设立“市级专项统筹资金”，构建起“广覆盖、保基本”的民生安全网。2017年，惠州市在全省基本公共服务均等化公众满意度指标考评中位列第一。多年来高度重视扶贫工作，特别是2016年精准扶贫工作以来，决战决胜脱贫攻坚，推动乡村全面振兴，2020年46个省定贫困村如期出列，胜利完成脱贫攻坚任务，切实做到“全面小康路上一个也不能少”。
　　带领人民建设良好环境。惠州自上世纪90年代以来，全面启动文明城市创建工作，在城市基础设施硬环境，以及政务、法治、市场、人文等软环境营造方面全方位发力，2009年1月以地级市总分第一的成绩荣获“全国文明城市”称号，迄今已蝉联“五连冠”。惠州还入列国家历史文化名城，连续多年获评全国社会治安综合治理优秀市、“中国最安全城市”，夺取全国社会管理综合治理最高奖项“长安杯”。在保持良好生态方面，执行严格环保措施，先后为“一条江、一座城、一座山、一个湖”立法保护，获评首批国家生态文明建设示范市。
　　多年来，惠州一直秉持人民至上的执政理念，在大力推进经济建设的同时，着力改善民生、加强社会建设，在推进基本公共服务均等化、文明城市建设等方面一直走在前列，开放包容、惠民利民成为惠州最鲜明的城市特质。未来，我们要深入贯彻以人民为中心的发展理念，以建设更加幸福国内一流城市为目标，发扬历届党委政府突出民生导向、重视社会治理的传统，以高质量的经济发展支撑社会建设，以良好的社会和生态治理保障人民共享发展成果，努力成为大湾区环境一流、治理一流的品质之城。当前，要结合党史学习教育，深入开展“我为群众办实事”实践活动，认真落实“1+10+N”为民办实事清单，以“小切口”撬动“大变化”，切实解决好群众身边的操心事、烦心事、揪心事。要统筹疫情防控和经济社会发展，落实落细各项疫情防控措施，全力维护人民群众生命安全和身体健康。

PDP to Buhari: Tell Nigerians why you cancelled London medical trip

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to explain the last-minute cancellation of his scheduled medical trip to London after the media had reported he was due to depart the nation’s capital on Friday.
The PDP said its position is against the backdrop of “increasing international disapprovals to the escalated human right violations, constitutional breaches, clampdown on citizens, suppression of free speech and other excesses by the Buhari administration, for which there have been concerted demands for travel restrictions against officials of the Buhari Presidency.”
In a statement signed by its spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP said “while Mr. President is left to sort out whatever impediments or constraints that led to the sudden cancellation of his scheduled medical trip, our party urges him to use this period to have some introspection on the sorry situation in which his incompetent, divisive, vindictive and suppressive administration has pushed our nation into in the last six years.”

PDP dissolves Anambra exco hours to primary election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved all its executives in the Anambra State chapter ahead of the November 6 governorship election.
The party directed its South-east Zonal Caretaker Committee to oversee and manage its affairs pending when new executives would be elected for the chapter.
The decision comes a day before the party’s primary election holding Saturday 26 June.
The spokesperson of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, said in a statement on Friday, that the party took the action following the two judgements served on it.
He, however, said the process leading to the election of a candidate for the November governorship election has not changed.
