I wonder if one thing these conspiracy theories supply is some excitement to jazz up the rather boring lives of these people? Like living inside a novel, an adventure story, though some side of the brain must believe that, really, one is quite safe. Otherwise they'd do something genuinely adventurous, like join Doctors Without Borders. Here they can get their emotional high without any real risk of being shot.

Demonstrations took place in a slew of major U.S. cities on Friday night, with some devolving into riots, in the wake of several deadly police shootings.
In Brooklyn Center, where 20-year-old Daunte Wright was fatally shot on April 11 after resisting arrest, a peaceful march swelled in size after returning to the police headquarters, and agitators began trying to tear down fencing protecting the building and lobbing projectiles at law enforcement.
Individuals wearing hockey gear, gas masks, and respirators, armed with weapons like baseball bats, got through a breach in the exterior fence, triggering law enforcement to order the crowd to disperse.

Travis Moser - A Little COVID Music

Like many of us, Travis Moser loves attention and musical theatre.  During COVID, this cabaret, concert, and recording artist has been without a stage, with only a shower to serve as his concert hall and his neighbors unwittingly serving as his audience.  Without the lights, the thrill of an audience, and the vamping piano, Travis has rediscovered his relationship with show tunes, more specifically with the music of Stephen Sondheim.  No stranger to iconic venues around NYC and beyond (he has played Feinstein’s/54 Below at least three times), he has released a reflective short album titled So Many People: The Sondheim Sessions that represents Moser’s feelings and emotions over the past 6 months—family, friends, politics, self-identity, and love—all through the lens of Stephen Sondheim’s music and lyrics.  Adding to a prolific library of Travis’ online music, So Many People is noticeably different – a quieter, stripped-down, and more intimate celebration of Broadway.

The poem is a call to persevere—even in the face of hardship and discrimination. But it is also a celebration. “You create and train your flowers still,” Brooks wrote. The world can be cruel, but still, we rise.
And so while women have been raised to be competitive with one another—rooted in the lie that there isn’t room for all of us to succeed—Black women understand the power of collaboration, motivation, and support. You ever noticed the pure excitement of a Black woman when one of her sisters succeeds? There is something so empowering about hearing a compliment from another Black woman. It’s the hype track to unlocking our power—a sisterhood in action.
