COVID-19 booster shots to be free, if needed

WHECTV Created: May 11, 2021 09:47 PM (CNBC/WHEC) COVID-19 booster shots will be free to the public if they are needed, the White House COVID-19 response team told lawmakers Tuesday. At a Senate hearing, Chief Science Officer David Kessler said the U.S. has the funds to purchase the next round and to assure if there are boosters they will be just as free as the last round. It is still unclear if the booster shots will be necessary to protect against future variants of the coronavirus. CNBC reports Kessler said beyond 2022, he will look to the Senate’s guidance on the point that the transition back to the transition back to a commercial market should happen.
