The USA, Malta, Israel, Iceland, Gibraltar and Ireland are likely to be on the ‘green list’ for safe travel this summer, according to new modelling.
The analysis, carried out by Robert Boyle – former strategy chief of British Airways and its owner IAG – confirms that, according to the Government's “risk” criteria, only eight destinations will make the cut when the green list is unveiled on May 10.
New Zealand and Australia will also be categorised as green, the analysis shows, although both countries are currently closed to foreign arrivals outside of their ‘Tasman Bubble’, which opens today.

A few years ago on a return leg of a road trip to Montana—we stopped at
Craters of the Moon National Monument in the Snake River Plain in central Idaho. To see it, you’d think you’d just stepped off a spaceship onto another planet. Here’s a photo of the terrain:

Oregon Trail route
The Oregon Trail Road Trip starts in Cannon Beach on the rugged coast of Oregon and takes you through Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York before finally ending in the seaside community of Provincetown, Massachusetts. Along the way, you'll see mountains, wildlife, raging waterfalls, stunning hiking trails, prehistoric fossils, historic sites, and eat some of the best food you've had in your life. The journey is almost 3,300 miles, plus side trips, following Highway 20 for the majority of the trip. Plan to dedicate at least two weeks to this adventure to make sure you can enjoy the incredible National Parks, museums, and attractions you'll see along the way, but if you can spare the time, three weeks is ideal. Before you depart, be sure to check everything off this road trip essentials checklist.

Dear MarketWatch,
I’ve worked in the luxury resort business all my life…mostly in Hawaii (big golf/beach resorts) and Colorado (high mountain ski resorts).  So I’ve always lived in great places, but also very expensive places. I’ve been able to do well financially and live well, but it is also dependent on my job and being in the hotel business, working 50 to 60 hours a week.
I am 53 years old and have about $1.4 million in 401(k) and Roth accounts plus about $900,000 in other assets. I live and play outdoors a lot, and want to live in the West. My wife is an avid rock climber, so she needs to be around that sport.

We’ve put together regional road trip suggestions in various parts of the country to help you explore some of your area’s lesser-known national parks during the least busy time of the year.

50 wonderful reasons to rediscover America – one for every state

50 wonderful reasons to rediscover America – one for every state
We've found an American adventure for everyone to mark the changing of the guard in Washington DC
America is full of epic trips

And so America has entered a new moment. After months of uncertainty and several weeks of (how shall we put it?) turbulence, a page has been turned, a fresh chapter begun.
Will the USA’s politics be less abrasive as a result of this changing of the guard? Perhaps. Will it be suddenly more attractive as a destination? No, not exactly. Because, while the events of recent history: the fractious discourse, the riot in Washington DC, the government by social media, have not painted the nation in the most appealing light, it takes a lot to dim the lustre of a country that, in terms of holidays, is an epic playground.
