By Dispatch Reporter - 09 March 2021 Helen Neale-May. Image: BUFFALO CITY Buffalo City Metro council elected ANC councillor Helen Neale-May as deputy mayor in a special council meeting on Tuesday. Neale-May, who was serving as a mayoral committee, headed the finance portfolio before her election. Last week, DispatchLIVE reported that Neale-May had been lined up to replace Zoliswa Matana, who succumbed to Covid-related complications in December. BCM chief whip Humphrey Maxegwana chaired the virtual meeting. Council had to go to a vote after two councillors were nominated. Helen Neale-May was up against DA councillor Sue Bentley. “I want to congratulate councillor Neale-May. I know that you have a lot of experience in local government and I know you will do as expected," said Maxegwana.

The company announced that Edgardo Hernandez, who currently serves as senior vice president, global parental drug product and device manufacturing, will succeed O'Neill as senior vice president and president of Lilly manufacturing operations. Also, Melissa Barnes, senior vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer, will retire June 27, 2021. Alonzo Weems, presently vice president and deputy general counsel, will succeed Barnes as senior vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer.

September 11, 1934 - February 18, 2021 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James William Neill. He was born September 11, 1934 and passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 18th, 2021 at the age of 86 years. Jim grew up on the family farm where he farmed with his father and brothers until health issues made it necessary for him to move to Continuing Care in Drumheller. He has resided there for the past 25 years and called it home. He enjoyed all recreational activities. He liked playing crib, singing and dancing. He also enjoyed his church activities a lot. He received wonderful care there from all the staff and Dr. Mpisi, who were all very kind to him.
