(RNS) Catholic clerics and organizations continued to wrangle over how best to respond to a new COVID-19 vaccine this week, with bishops scrambling to make their views known on how their faithful should approach a vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson that some say is morally tainted by a connection to a long-ago aborted fetus. ....

Dem and GOP Leaders to Attend Catholic Mass With Pro-Abortion Joe Biden

The four principal leaders of the U.S. House and Senate will attend a Catholic Mass on Wednesday, Jan. 20, with President-elect Joe Biden before he is inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States. 
The Mass will occur at St. Matthew s Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and Cardinal Wilton Gregory is expected to preside over the service. Although Biden supports abortion and gay marriage, which are contrary to Catholic moral teaching, Cardinal Gregory has stated that he would not deny Holy Communion to Biden.

That’s the main message from leaders of conservative Christian churches and religious organizations in the Pikes Peak region, as a Democratic president and what is shaping up to be the nation s most progressive administration are poised to take over leadership of the country.
“As Christians, we believe God is in control, no matter who wins the election,” said Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family, a Colorado Springs-headquartered evangelical organization that provides a daily radio broadcast to some 7 million listeners and other services.
In accepting the defeat of President Donald Trump, conservative Christians, who historically have supported Republican candidates, say they are not losing the faith, as they vow to continue opposing abortion, speaking out about same-sex relationships and promoting traditional values in society. ....
