Johor cops nab seven bikers for reckless riding

KULAI: Police have detained seven motorcyclists during an operation codenamed Ops Samseng Jalanan to nab reckless motorists and road bullies.
Kulai OCPD Supt Tong Beng Yeow said the seven male suspects, aged between 15 and 24, were detained on Tuesday (March 2) at around 10pm along Jalan Senai-Seelong-Kempas Lama.
He said the operation was led by Insp Mohd Khairi Salleh with eight officers and will end at around 10pm on Wednesday (March 3).
“They were detained under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for riding in reckless manners, Supt Tong said in a statement here.
He said among the offences committed by them included riding at high speed, performing the “Superman” stunt and zig-zagging and overtaking other vehicles dangerously. ....

The US government dropped drunken driving and reckless driving charges against Bruce Springsteen on Wednesday stemming from an incident in November, admitting that the rocker s blood-alcohol level was so low that it didn t warrant the charges.
Springsteen pleaded guilty to a third charge, consuming alcohol in a closed area, the Gateway National Recreation Area. Better known as Sandy Hook, it is an Atlantic Ocean peninsula with views of the New York City skyline. ....

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has cautioned political and religious leaders to stop reckless utterances that could lead to war.
He gave the warning on Saturday at the 2021 Lagos State Interdenominational Divine Service organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the Apostolic Church, Ketu.
The governor said the ongoing crises may be aggravated due to incendiary comments possible of stoking division and violence.
He said the nation faced a difficult period in the year 2020 after the outbreak of COVID-19 and youth restiveness.
