Devoutly corrupt: Part one

Devoutly corrupt: Part one
July 27, 2021
Nancy Pelosi, a 2014 recipient of Planned Parenthood’s Margaret Sanger Award, insists that she is a devout Catholic. Her words mean nothing, of course, because her actions expose her devotion to killing babies. As Pelosi says, she would never presume to “make decisions” for other women. Not only that but Pelosi opines that taxpayer funding of abortion is “an issue of fairness and justice for poorer women in our country.”
And there’s the rub! Webster’s defines a devout person as someone who professes piety or religious fervor. It does not say that someone who embraces and promotes murdering people is a devout attitude. In fact, we know this act is morally reprehensible. ....

Heroes But Not Saints: Why We Shouldn't 'Cancel' Flawed Progressive Icons

In a recent op-ed column for the
New York Times, Alexis McGill Johnson, president of Planned Parenthood, wrote that we re done making excuses for our founder, Margaret Sanger. Planned Parenthood began that reckoning last year when it removed Sanger s name from one of its New York City clinics. Now it is taking further steps.
We have defended Sanger as a protector of bodily autonomy and self-determination, while excusing her association with white supremacist groups and eugenics as an unfortunate product of her time, Johnson wrote.
For decades, foes of birth control and abortion have attacked Sanger (1879-1966) as a racist. ....

Planned Parenthood tries to distance itself from Margaret Sanger's racism, but it can't

In her op-ed for the
New York Times, Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson said her organization would stop making excuses for its racist founder, Margaret Sanger. What she meant is that she wants her friends inside the Beltway and in the leftist media to stop talking about Sanger so the organization can quietly continue carrying out its genocide in the black community, while also giving lip service to the Black Lives Matter movement and helping to portray abortion as the very best of things on television and in film.
There is no disputing that Sanger thought black people were inferior and wanted to prevent them from ever being conceived. Planned Parenthood finally acknowledging that doesn’t mean anything as long as the organization carries on with its genocide of the black community through abortion. ....

Archbishop Slams Nancy Pelosi for Attacking Pro-Life Americans

22 Jan 2021
San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone said Thursday that Speaker Nancy Pelosi owes pro-life voters an apology, noting that no Catholic worthy of the name would be pro-choice.
“Speaker Pelosi has chosen this week to impugn the motives of millions of Catholics and others for choosing to make voting on the issue of abortion their priority and accuses them of ‘selling out democracy,’” Archbishop Cordileone said in a statement. “This is not the language of unity and healing.  She owes these voters an apology.”
The archbishop was responding to comments Pelosi made this week in which she criticized pro-life Americans who voted for Donald Trump over the abortion issue, accusing them of “being willing to sell the whole democracy down the river for that one issue.” ....
