Frosh warns of illegal coronavirus testing sites in Baltimore

Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh is warning Baltimoreans of illegal, unlicensed pop-up COVID-19 testing sites.
The attorney general said Monday that individuals are setting up tables at random locations, including outside shopping centers and retail stores, and offering free testing. However, the stations are not authorized and their operators are not following federal guidelines for collecting, handling and testing specimens.
The state s 240 approved testing sites are listed online.
“Consumers in need of a COVID-19 test should have it performed at an approved testing site,” Frosh said in a statement. “Providing personal information, such as Social Security numbers, to individuals hosting one of these pop-up sites not only puts your health at risk but increases your chances of becoming a victim of identity theft.” ....

Attorney General Frosh Announces Multistate Lawsuit Seeking to End Facebook's Illegal Monopoly | Southern Maryland News Net

Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh announced a bipartisan coalition of 48 attorneys general has filed a lawsuit against Facebook Inc., alleging the company illegally stifles competition to protect its monopoly power. The lawsuit alleges that over the last decade, the social networking giant illegally acquired potential competitors in a predatory manner and cut services to smaller apps, depriving users of the benefits of competition and reducing privacy protections and services.
“Facebook manipulated the market and misused its monopoly power to the detriment of users,” said Attorney General Frosh. “Our lawsuit will bring the market back into balance, allow other businesses to compete and protect the privacy of millions of users.” ....
