Keavy native named forest supervisor of Daniel Boone National Forest

WINCHESTER, Ky. â The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service has named H. Scott Ray the Forest Supervisor of the Daniel Boone National Forest.
Ray has been the Deputy Forest Supervisor for the Daniel Boone National Forest for the last four years and has been serving as acting Forest Supervisor there since December 2020. In his new position, he will oversee 709,000 acres spread across 21 counties in Eastern Kentucky from the Forest Supervisorâs office in Winchester, Kentucky.
âThe Daniel Boone National Forest is truly a special place and I am honored to have this opportunity. I am excited to continue to work with all the incredible employees, partners, and volunteers that help steward this wonderful forest,â said Ray.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A water outage is impacting homes in Huntsville tonight.
Officials with Huntsville Utilities are responding a water break on Meridian Street from Winchester Road north to Memorial Parkway.

Crews are working to restore water to homes in the area, but say it is expected to take between five to six hours.

Siri's Voice No Longer Female By Default | Shenandoah Country Q102

Siri will no longer be female by default. Apple announced on Wednesday that users will be able to pick from a range of voices. You can currently pick between a male and a female voice in a few different accents (American, British, Indian and Irish). In the US, Siri's voice is by default female. These changes will go into affect in Apple's iOS 14.5 beta and you will see a difference when setting up a new Apple device.

"We're excited to introduce two new Siri voices for English speakers and the option for Siri users to select the voice they want when they set up their device. WINCHESTER — Pre-registration for Winchester Elementary School’s 2021-22 kindergarten class will take place next month at the school.
If a child did not attend pre-school locally, a packet will be available that must be completed before pre-registration begins.
Registration will take place 3:30-5:30 p.m. April 13 at the school, 283 S. Elm St. Parents will need to bring a copy of the child’s official birth certificate and record of immunizations.
