An eight-home development has been given the go-ahead after a councilâs decision was overturned by the Planning Inspectorate on Tuesday (March 2).
Simon Boon Homes Ltdâs application to build on land off Kettering Road in Stamford had been refused by South Kesteven District Council in February last year.
At the time, councillors spoke about the impact on nearby historic listed buildings and the loss of a public right of way through âopen countryâ on the edge of the town. ....

A new group is being set up to help establish what healthcare facilities residents need and where best to put them.
Better Healthcare for Stamford is pledging to find out peopleâs opinions and make sure views are passed on to those who make decisions on the future of GP surgeries and other health facilities.
Headed by Andrew Nebel, previously chairman of the Stamford Lakeside Patients Participation Group, the new group aims to help âjoin upâ thinking about the future of healthcare in the area.

Changes that Mr Nebel highlights as important in shaping this include NHS Lincolnshireâs plan to develop an integrated care system to replace the current clinical commissioning group from April 2022. ....

STAMFORD Days after former state Rep. Patricia Billie Miller was sworn in as a state senator, the governor on Friday set April 27 as the date for a special election to determine her replacement in the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Miller was sworn in Monday as the state senator for the 27th District, taking the place of Carlo Leone, who became an adviser to the head of the state Department of Transportation earlier this year. Before winning a special election this month, Miller represented the state House’s 145th District for 12 years. ....
