Students at Oxford's Magdalen College voted to remove a photo of Queen Elizabeth from a common room.
They said the Queen and the British monarchy "represent recent colonial history."
The vote comes amid a larger reckoning of the royal family's racist past.
Graduate students at Magdalen College at the University of Oxford voted on Monday to remove a photo of Queen Elizabeth from their common room, saying "depictions of the monarch and the British monarchy represent recent colonial history," the Oxford Mail reported.

Gayle King, who is friends with Oprah and the Duchess of Sussex, revealed on her SiriusXM radio show,
Gayle King in the House, on Wednesday that the couple, who filmed the interview before Philip was admitted into the hospital on Feb. 16, never intended to have their sit-down air if the Duke of Edinburgh passed away.
"Well, just so you know, they had done that interview before Prince Phillip went into the hospital," King said. "If something, God forbid, had happened to him, the interview would not have run at this particular time. But the interview was done and was scheduled before he went into the hospital. But a lot of people have raised that point."

Gayle King says her friend Meghan Markle can support all the claims she made in her revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey.
"Meghan has documents to back up everything that she said on Oprah's interview. Everything," King said on Tuesday's
CBS This Morning.
During Meghan and Prince Harry's interview, which aired earlier this month, the Duchess of Sussex said there were "concerns and conversations" about her children's skin color, that she was denied help when she felt suicidal and that a disagreement with Kate Middleton left her in tears ahead of her wedding, among other revelations.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's revealing sit down with Oprah Winfrey echoed his mother Princess Diana's explosive 1995 interview with the BBC's
Panorama — and one quote from the late royal's broadcast is now being applied to her daughter-in-law.
Just hours after Meghan and Harry's interview aired, filmmaker Ava DuVernay shared a clip on Twitter from Princess Diana's interview in which she spoke about the royal family deciding she was a "nonstarter."
"Because I do things differently, because I don't go by a rule book, because I lead from the heart, not the head, and albeit that's got me into trouble in my work, I understand that," Diana said. "But someone's got to go out there and love people and show it."

Queen Elizabeth's eldest son and heir stepped out on Tuesday to visit a London COVID-19 vaccine clinic. During the outing, reporters asked Prince Charles for his reaction to Harry and Meghan's interview — but he stayed silent.
"He chuckled and carried on walking," tweeted
The Daily Express' Richard Palmer.
There has yet to be a comment from the palace or any members of the royal family in the two days since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's revealing interview aired.
