Biden also nominated Jack Markell, the former Democratic governor of his home state of Delaware, to be the U.S. representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the White House statement said. The pair were among 17 nominations sent to the Senate for confirmation. McCain endorsed Biden in Novemberâs election in which the Democrat defeated Republican President Donald Trump, who had repeatedly criticized McCainâs husband. John McCain died in 2018. ....

Led by the Ohio Business Roundtable, employers announced the Coalition to Stop the Spread, an initiative that recognizes the risk COVID-19 poses to Ohio’s economy and the gains that have been made since the initial shutdowns of businesses and schools. The coalition asks people to wear a mask, not just where it is mandated in public, but when gathering with any small friend or family group beyond your immediate household. The coalition’s mission is in line with the chamber’s EMERGE program, launched last year to help local businesses emerge from the pandemic.
