FDA Commissioner refuses to commit to banning or limiting flavored e-cigarettes despite pressure from Democrats in Congress
Rep Katie Porter (CA) led congressional Democrats in pressuring the FDA chief to ban flavored e-cigarettes on Wednesday
Acting FDA Commissioner Dr Janet Woodcock was non-committal and did not give a clear answer as to whether a ban will take place
Many health experts blame flavored vape products for an uptick in teen smoking in recent years 
Studies have found that bans of e-cigarettes can sometimes be counterproductive, and push teens to smoking tobacco, which is more harmful
