instead of saying -- we're going to punish our enemies and reward our friend who is stand with us on issues that are important to us. if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election then i think it will be harder and that's why i think it's so important that people focus on voting on november 2nd. >> david, republican john boehner making an issue of this in the final day. president obama already saying he should have used the word "opponent" not enemies. is this a big deal? >> no. i think it's marginal. it's like mr. sanders from selma. everyone respects him because of the selma roots but i think these are all on the fringes. the critical point is this. back in the 2008 presidential election, 69 million americans voted for barack obama. almost 10 million more than voted for the republican opponent. i think they proved that this is not a mean-spirited nation and not a racist nation. what is going on in this election is not about race of 2010.
