there will be some consequences for this. >> he says none of the firefighters involved in the incident tested positive for being under the influence of alcohol, but the matter remains under then there are a lot of things in life more to worry about than that. >> we know the rain is falling. >> have some good news for that year the trend moving off to the east at a pretty good clip, so i think we will be fine. let's get to it and give you some pictures to back up these mighty words. look of to the east of washington. yellows and reds and show the heaviest elements of rain continuing to push away from the area. the rain has totally stop back to the western sections of land the county and back toward interstate 31. that is good news. heavy ran away from the area. so we are not finished with the rain but it will be a process of it slowly diminishing and the continued process of the heaviest outlets of rain slowly shifting to the east and northeast. we still have flash flood watch in effect. we have flood warnings up in spots to the north and northeast of us on the upper eastern shore of maryland. look at some of these rain totals. over two inches of rain since this morning. almost two inches in prince george's county. spotsylvania, 2.25 inches. 2.2 inches in baltimore. rainfall we are seeing our numbers. we will get the numbers for 6:00, but we are somewhere probably close to 8.5 inches of rain for the month of september officially for washington. 71 in the district, 74 in annapolis. we get back was behind the cold front approaching 6219 marie. cooler air will promote it. the front will not move very far to the east of our area, so we will stay rather warm and muggy for the next few days. the newport temperatures in the 30's and 40's, and this is dry air kind of sitting there. it may take until wednesday with the dry air to make it east. your satellite and radar. there is the push. there's washington. look down on the coast. see everything kind of concentrating on the coast? rain could be bad news for many neighborhoods still drying out from recent flooding. parts of woodbridge hit really hard and several families still have not been able to go back to their homes. of the weeks ago the retaining wall collapsed behind a condo complex. by, nearly every house in a mobile home community was deemed uninhabitable. >> and though mr. universe he was laid to rest a peer friend of families gathered at the church in southeast. 18-year-old was stabbed to death last thursday. her roommate is charged in her murder. >> abc fire house back in service after being shut down for having beer on the premises. engine 9 in northwest was taken out of service for two hours on thursday. authorities say the fire chief found a case of beer in the refrigerator. alcohol is not allowed fda says more than half the supply made with ingredients from overseas ends up contaminated. >> we literally are tracking products that have particulate matter even pieces of glass and pieces of metal, which should be sterile. >> there's the issue of capacity with some plants. >> it almost feels like i am practicing in a third-world country. and as demand rises so do prices. one agency says average markup is 650%. >> we used to pay $10 for a vial of that. now, we pay $300. >> for some patients, the shortage can mean paying the ultimate price. >> i have a great grandson that is due next month. i have to be around to see him. >> congress is considering requiring drug makers to notify the fda 6 months ahead of a shortage but fda officials say they cannot force companies to make drugs in short supply. >> all right, thank you. coming up next, investigating some new evidence that could explain what caused those two u.s. air show crashes. >> a gay teenager from our area is rejected by his parents. he lives in a bed in a crowded building put himself through high school, and is now attending college. >> the estimated 1.6 million homeless youths in american between 20% 40% are believed to be gay lesbian transsexual or transgendered. >> experts say they're much more likely to engage in risky behaviors or take their lives. iraq, the story of one local teenager who after coming out of the closet kept another secret for more than a year. >> i came out to them. i was 16. >> two weeks after he came out to his parents he says they ask them to leave their home. >> i just left. >> he moved in with his grandmother and later with some friends, but eventually, he ran out of options. he would find shelter in this abandoned building just off mississippi avenue se. he survived eating cheap fast food but many nights when hungry, and he used public bathrooms to wash up. >> there was no electricity. >> he enrolled himself at an alternative school for at risk youth. >> i did not really what to tell anybody because i did not want anybody to have pity on me. >> off and on for more than a year, he said he was living here on the streets of southeast washington and during that time, he said not one of the person knew his secret, that he was homeless. am i always had a pleasant smile. no one would ever know what he was going through. >> when he finally ran out of money, he confided in the school guidance counselor. others help him get temporary housing through a support organization. he went on to graduate. now 19, he is taking classes at the community college of d.c., and with a student loan, he lives in this apartment building. >> i do not really think about me. i think more of the people who are not as lucky as me. >> advocates for gay homeless youth say his success story is a rare one. >> they get addicted to drugs and find themselves caught up with prosecution. we hear some real horrific stories. >> but he had a support network. >> i can almost feel if something is not right or if he is troubled about something. >> as for his real parents he says he has only seen him once, at his high school graduation. still, he remains hopeful some day they will reconnect. >> i love them both very much. i do not have anything against them. >> looking back, despite being rejected and the homeless, he says he is proud of himself and has no regrets. >> why be unhappy? life is too short. why be around people who [inaudible] >> a photograph could give new clues into a deadly air show crash in west virginia. the national transportation safety board is reviewing the photograph taken on saturday after a local pilot noticed an issue with the wing of the plane that crashed. that is the plane you see on the far right. it appears to show an open minutes panel on the wing. the pilot died saturday when his plane crashed in martinsburg. it happened during an acrobatic role. there had been no earlier signs of any trouble. ntsb is investigating the cause of that crash. federal investigators are also looking into evidence that a piece fell off of a modified air play just before it crashed in reno last week. a preliminary report says investigators have tried to extract crews from on board did a box and camera equipment. 11 people including the pilot died when the plane crashed into a crowd of spectators. another 66 people were seriously injured. >> we switch gears tonight to look at abc 7 prime time.
