That's up from $3.94 million those same companies spent in 2019, which was more than triple their collective spend in 2015, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. The recent filings reflect a steady growth in interest in cybersecurity policy in Washington over the past five years, especially as lawmakers considered reshaping security and privacy laws.
