was an individual inside if that individual was armed. but we have as i mentioned just gotten confirmation from chp that there in fact wasn't an individual in the vehicle, that van has now been pulled to the right shoulder of 880 and there has been a search going on in this area near the oracle arena where the crash happened. no details about the suspect at this time, so still a manhunt going on. but for those who are driving on the 880 freeway, lanes now reopened. let's go to elizabeth and get details about any backups that may be still happening. >> there are still backups in the area. we can really see the southbound traffic has reopened and i guess that chp confirmed with kristy that they are in the process now of re-opening those northbound lanes because that's where the police standoff was in the northbound lanes so public safety precaution, they did go ahead and shut the southbound lanes, as well. you can see headlights, that's southbound traffic which has definitely re-opened here within the last couple of minutes. northbound traffic really low in the area backed up to at least davis street towards san leandro at last check and you can see our sensors are picking up a lot of slow speeds so we have been encouraging folks to use five as alternate or bart. 880, this causes confusion for drivers when a major artery like this is shut down. this affects freeway traffic all over the bay area. big rigs are allowed to use 580 at last check. within the last five minutes they re-opened southbound 580 and are in the process of beginning to reopen northbound 880, as well. the bay bridge, traffic looks okay. so far no metering lights and again you are free and clear in the fastrak lanes. slight delays in cash lanes but for a while we had lighter-than- normal traffic at the bay bridge because the commuters were having a hard time getting to the bay bridge from the nimitz. so again, continue to watching us for this developing story. along the nimitz, 880
