chicago and boston, same for you. we are staying in the 70s into the upcoming workweek. there's hope for the upcoming days ahead. unfortunately, across the southwest, sunday and into monday, temperatures are still well above normal by at least five degrees. there is hope in the future. monday and tuesday, seeing numbers taper back a bit. sunday here in phoenix, 111 degrees. the problem with that is now we are adding to the consecutive days where our temperatures have been over 100. 30 turns to 31. monday into tuesday, starting to see relief thanks to the monsoonal rains setting up. we will top out at 107 monday, 106 on tuesday which is where we should be. it doesn't last long. we clear out the skies for phoenix and right back up to 115 degrees by the time we get into the weekend. that heat dome, that area of high pressure where it's trapping all that warm, moist ocean air scoots eat.
