Some of it is visible. Some of it is behind the scenes. In all the years i have been flying in and out of dulles and reporting from here, i have never seen security like this. Security is dramatically increased here at Dulles International airport. Canine teams move between bags and passengers. Airport Police Officers carrying assaultstyle rifles and side arms are pale troing both inside and curb side. Their presence alone can reassure passengers or be a reminder of yesterdays deadly attacks and bombings at the airport in istanbul. Im concerned. But i know security is up. This is going to mean drastic conditions for communities in jamaica and haiti because the front quadrant is always where the strongest winds are.
