Pablo Cuadra/FilmMagicIn the forthcoming May 7 episode of David Duchovny’s Fail Better podcast, Ben Stiller unpacked what Zoolander 2 bombing did for him — for better or worse. The 2016 movie tanked at the box office and was critically drubbed, which took a toll on him, Stiller says in the interview."It hurt," Stiller said, according to The Wrap.“I thought everybody wanted this, and then it’s like, 'Wow, I must have really f***** this up. Everybody didn’t go to it. And it's gotten these horrible reviews."Stiller adds, "It really freaked me out because I was like, 'I didn’t know [it] was that bad?'"The director of the 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder recalls, "What scared me the most on that one was l’m losing what I think what's funny, the questioning yourself,” he added. “It was definitely blindsiding to me. And it definitely affected me for a long time.”That said, there was a silver lining. "The wonderful thing that came out of that for me was ... if that had been a hit, and they said 'Make Zoolander 3 right now' ... I would have just probably jumped in and done that."Stiller added, "Even if somebody said, 'Well, why don’t you go do another comedy or do this?’ I probably could have figured out something to do. But I just didn’t want to."What came from that break was developing some limited series, like 2018's Escape at Dannemora, for which he was nominated for an Emmy in the directing category, and the Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ series Severance.Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Kevin Winter/Getty Images for The Recording AcademyWhen Céline Dion made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards in February 2024, she received a standing ovation — but also a lot of raised eyebrows, because she came onstage wearing a massive, mustard-yellow Valentino coat over her dress. Now we know why.Céline's appearance was a big deal, because it was one of the first times she'd been in front of people in such a public way since she'd announced her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis. In a video she made for Vogue, Celine explains, "It was very nerve-wracking, but at the same time, a big honor. That magic. That excitement. To see the fans, to see the crowd. To see show business again.""But it's always very, very touching when you have a standing ovation," she adds."It took a lot out of me," Céline says of the appearance. "But my son came and gave me his support. And to present the Album of the Year to Taylor Swift, it's an honor, because she's having the time of her life and I'm the one presenting it to her."But what about her look? "I was like, 'I can walk onstage with a coat?'" Céline recalls asking. And she remembers being told, "Oh yeah, you can do whatever you want in fashion. Just have a good time, wear that coat, own that coat, go for it!'""And it made me feel better for a moment to hold onto this coat, to hide myself a little bit, from all these little things," she explains, before breaking into a chorus of her song, "Imperfections."Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Disney+Disneynature’s Tiger pounces onto Disney+ on Earth Day, April 22.Narrated by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the project "lifts the veil on our planet’s most revered and charismatic animal, inviting viewers to journey alongside Ambar, a young tigress raising her cubs in the fabled forests of India."In the launch announcement, an "honored" Priyanka expresses, "It’s just wonderful to be able to be a part of something so special and to tell the story of this magnificent animal that comes from my country."She adds, "I have always loved tigers and I feel a kinship with the female tiger -- I feel very protective of my family. Ambar’s journey is something I think every mom would really relate to."Co-director Vanessa Berlowitz tells ABC Audio, "The [tiger] moms are even more amazing than we thought they'd be. The males are kind of less stereotype, kind of one-dimensional baddies."She adds, "I also hope people take away the idea that, you know, this is a positive conservation success story. Tigers are doing really well in India because of what Indians have done to save them."Co-director Mark Linfield tells ABC Audio that Earth Day was the perfect release day for the film. "I actually love the idea that there's a day when people are actually forced to stop and just think about nature and the environment, a little bit more than they might on an average day," he says. Linfield adds, "The more time we spend in nature and, you know, just get out into the wild ... It's good for everything. And it's good to remind us that we're part of nature and we're not separate from it." Disney is the parent company of ABC News.Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Amy Sussman/Getty ImagesAs announced on American Idol on April 21, this year's inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame are ageless diva Cher, R&B powerhouse Mary J. Blige, '70s and '80 rock hitmakers Foreigner, '70s superstar guitarist Peter Frampton, jam band superstars Dave Matthews Band, R&B legends Kool & the Gang, metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and pioneering rap group A Tribe Called Quest.Frampton was front and center at last year's induction ceremony, playing guitar with Sheryl Crow as she was inducted into the hall. Foreigner has been the focus of a social media campaign driven by Mark Ronson, in which big names like Paul McCartney and Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl argued why the "I Want to Know What Love Is" band deserves to be inducted. In 2023, Cher declared on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she wouldn't be in the Rock Hall now "if they gave me a million dollars" and insisted, "I'm never gonna change my mind." We'll see how that plays out at the induction ceremony in October. In addition, recipients of the Musical Excellence Award are the late Jimmy Buffett; Dionne Warwick; influential proto-punk rockers MC5; and the late songwriter/producer Norman Whitfield, known for co-writing and producing timeless Motown classics like "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone."The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction will stream live on Disney+ on October 19 from the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, and will be available on Hulu the next day. Beth GarrabrantTaylor Swift's new video for "Fortnight," which she wrote and directed, is a black-and-white fantasia of paper, rain and a dash of Poor Things. The clip starts with Taylor, in heavy makeup and a fancy gown, handcuffed to a hospital bedframe that's affixed halfway up a wall in what looks like a mental hospital cell. She frees herself and stares in the mirror; as she wipes her face, her duet partner Post Malone's tattoos magically appear on it.Next, Taylor's in an office, wearing a black, old-fashioned gown like the one her friend Emma Stone wore in the movie Poor Things. She and Post Malone sit at different typewriters, typing at each other as colored clouds emanate from their machines.Cut to Taylor and Post lying together on a huge silhouette of Taylor's face made up of white pages. They embrace tenderly as the pages swirl around them, and we see that all of Post's facial tattoos have disappeared.Next, we're in a lab where Taylor is strapped to a table, being studied by two scientists played by Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, who starred in The Dead Poets Society. Cut to Post in a phone booth on top of a mountain in a rainstorm; Taylor's kneeling on top. Then we see Taylor back in the office, surrounded by swirling, burning pages. Back in the cell, she smashes a two-way mirror.  Back at the phone booth, Posty and Taylor clasp hands. The end.On Instagram, Taylor wrote, "When I was writing the Fortnight music video, I wanted to show you the worlds I saw in my head that served as the backdrop for making this music. Pretty much everything in it is a metaphor or a reference to one corner of the album or another.""@postmalone blew me away on set as our tortured tragic hero and I’m so grateful to him for everything he put into this collaboration," she added. "I’m still laughing from getting to work with the coolest guys on earth, @ethanhawke and @mrjoshcharles (tortured poets, meet your colleagues from down the hall, the dead poets)."Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio.
