The new events include Bell Orchestre (13 Mar), authors Kazuo and Naomi Ishiguro (5 Apr), Olivia Laing (30 Apr) and Jhumpa Lahiri (6 May). The return of Inside Out kicked off in January 2021 with the hugely popular T.S Eliot Prize event (24 Jan), which saw Bhanu Kapil crowned the 2021 prize winner. Since then, a stellar performance and spell-binding talks have been streamed featuring The Cinematic Orchestra (29 Jan), Fearne Cotton (4 Feb) and Ethan Hawke (8 Feb).
Arcade Fire's Sarah Neufeld Sets May Release For New Solo Album 'Detritus' Thursday, 11 February 2021 Written by Jon Stickler Sarah Neufeld, known for her work with Arcade Fire, has shared details of her first solo album in five years. 'Detritus' will arrive on May 14 via Paper Bag/One Little Independent Records and feature the newly shared opening track, Stories, a contemplative arrangement showcasing the violinist and composer's haunting vocals over a blend of strings and celestial synths. Neufeld — who is also a member of Bell Orchestre — worked with Arcade Fire bandmate Jeremy Gara, Bell Orchestre bandmate Pietro Amato and Stuart Bogie on what will be her third solo LP, and the follow-up to 2016's 'The Ridge'. Its three Artists-in-Residence for 2020-21 - composer Lisa Bielawa, composer/pianist Conrad Tao, and cellist Seth Parker Woods - feature prominently in the season: Tao and Woods will perform in the Ecstatic Music series (May 6 and May 9 respectively), while Bielawa will unveil her opera-in-progress Centuries in the Hours with help from students from KMC's Special Music School High School (May 27).

Montreal's Bell Orchestre return with beautiful new piece 'V: Movement'. The composition is taken from new album 'House Music', their first full length project in over a decade. Hinging on the Canadian city, Bell Orchestre feature Arcade Fireâs Sarah Neufeld and Richard Reed Parry amongst their number. 'House Music' is out on March 19th, and was largely constructed from a single improvisational session, capturing something dream-like and intangible in the process. 'V: Movement' is certainly an engaging start, tapping into aspects of the unconscious, a true mood-piece that dwells in sonic beauty. Tune in now.

The group, who include Arcade Fire‘s Sarah Neufeld and Richard Reed Parry among their members, are now gearing up to release their first full-length record since 2009’s ‘Who Designs Nature’s How’. ‘House Music’ is described as “an immersive ecosystem of an album” which “unfolds as one long piece”, and is set for release on March 19 via Erased Tapes.
