From Baghpat's Einstein Chacha to Parineeti Chopra in The Girl on the Train, everything that made headlines.
Dear Reader,
Do you love chaat? Well, most of us swear by that quintessential Indian street food that we've had little of in these Covid times. Unless they come riding pillion on a Zomato bike. But our Einstein Chacha from Baghpat loves his chaat so much that it resulted in probably the biggest fight on Baghpat streets in recent times. You can follow the updates on Chacha's orange hair and the street fight here.

This week brings more theatrical releases than American audiences have gotten in ages — and possibly more than they’re ready for now, as vaccine rollouts still leave people questioning whether it’s safe to do things like go to the movies.
Some, such as Warner Bros.’ “Tom & Jerry,” can also be viewed via streaming (the cat-and-mouse movie, which features the animated duo destroying a live-action New York cityscape) for HBO Max subscribers. Others — including Anthony Hopkins-starrer “The Father” (a subjective look at the impact of dementia on an elderly man) and the aptly named Armie Hammer movie “Crisis” — will be coming to VOD shortly, but are opening today only in cinemas.

Netflix's Pele is being described as 'fantastic' and 'beautiful' by fans

Pele is coming to Netflix. Pic credit: Netflix
Earlier this week, the documentary Pele made its way onto Netflix. This movie showcases the notorious Brazillian footballer Pele through his journey to becoming a three-time World Cup winner.
What is Pele about?
Sports fans are destined to enjoy Pele. The documentary features never-before-seen archival footage and multiple interviews with the footballer’s iconic teammates. It breaks down the “12-year period in which Pele, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from young superstar in 1958 to national hero in 1970.”
Pele isn’t an easy watch as at the height of Pele’s fame stood “a radical yet turbulent era in Brazil’s history.”

Usually, when you ask an athlete how they felt about winning the big thing—a championship, a rewriting of the record books, what have you—they'll just tell you that they're happy that they won the big thing. Or that they deserve their respect. (LeBron.) Maybe that they want to do it again. (Tom Brady.) Or, my favorite, that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! (Kevin Garnett.) In
Pelé, a new documentary about the legendary Brazilian footballer, Pelé talks about winning the 1970 World Cup in a way you'll rarely hear an athlete say out lout.

Pele: Netflix doco lifts the lid on how the boy from Brazil led them to glory

Pele (13+, 108mins) Directed by Ben Nicholas, David Tryhorn ***½
While his more controversial fellow Fifa World Player of the Century has been the subject of countless documentaries, the man born Edson Arantes do Nascimento is probably more famous televisually for appearing alongside Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine in
Escape to Victory.
Ben Nicholas and David Tryhorn’s tale aims to redress that balance, to finally tell the story of the man who scored 1283 goals in 1367 games and, more than anyone, made Brazil a country synonymous with flair-fuelled winning football, while selling everything in his native land from coffee to toothpaste.
Be warned though, those expecting a warts-and-all, soup-to-nuts biography are likely to leave disappointed – the focus is very much on the 12-year period (1958 to ‘70) when Pele and Brazil took home three World Cup titles – but as a primer to “the only footballer who surpassed the boundaries of logic” (as Dutch 1970s star Johan Cruyff described him), it certainly provides plenty of interest and insight.
