Those outdoor plans. Heres our visibility map. You can see the fog increasing throughout the bay. Santa rosa is down to 1 mile down from 3 miles of visibility a five minutes ago. There is a dense fog advisory in the San Joaquin Valley affecting stockton, modesto, manteca, all the way through bakersfield, through 11 a. M. Thick at daybreak through 11 a. M. So no high beams heading that way and keep your distance between you and the other car. Wind does make a difference. If we had a little breeze this morning, some of the fog would move out. But as you see its calm and we are only seeing winds up to 6 miles. Variable coming in all kinds of directions. Well, we have quite the backup developing and this is over at the triangle at 580 westbound. A big rig was pulling over to the side of the road. It tipped over down the embankment so they are waiting for a tow truck to arrive and it l. A. X. Like its going to cause those slowdowns ....
Need it for most of the day. Visibility has improved over the north bay but this time in the morning it will fluctuate. Not to long ago i saw over one mile in the napa airport and down through areas near novato and American Canyon where we have this dark Gray Crossing into highway 101 and you could have some in san rafael with this darker shade indicating dense fog with visibility down to 1 4 mile. That could be dangerous. Afternoon highs for today in the 60s in pacifica, 64 San Francisco with 60s for the inner east bay and 60s for the south bay. We have a cool down as we get into your weekend with a chance for sprinkles. I will look at your extended forecast coming up. Lets get to the highways with sal. We are looking at a bunch of stuff. You are telling me this vision happened sometime shortly after 5 00. That is correct, a little bit after 5 00, we began receiving reports of a major collision that took place here at the toll plaza at the bay bridge, westerly direction. Came out on scene, as you can see behind us here, apparently a big box truck transporting a bunch of equipment had somehow come through, struck several vehicles that were at the toll plaza waiting to go through the toll. Damaged vehicles. Continued on in a northwesterly direction and struck a toll booth, toll boxes. Unfortunately the toll booth, the toll taker was killed on impact. The driver of the box truck as well as the passenger that box was both ejected on to the roadway, suffered significant injuries. And right now we are working to determine exactly what the cause of this collision was. All right. And so to have had this kind of impact he must have had quite a bit of speed.
