That’s simply because the costume mostly comprises a replica of a wooden village house also known as kampung. The 25-year-old was seen lugging the 45kg outfit created by local designer Carven Ong as she walked down an aisle during a press event. She also wears a doll on her head by doll designer Wesley Hilton that mimics her look.

Designed by renowned homegrown designer Carven Ong, “Kampungku” is a celebration of traditional Malaysian architecture and the sense of nostalgia it evokes. The 3D kampung house features a black and white facade to represent childhood memories.
