between law-abiding citizens and criminals like donald trump and all of his cohorts. and they want the country to speak to each other with kindness, attention, and decency. and that is why i believe when all of these americans go to the polls they will vote for people that will care for them, the country, and their children and grandchildren. people are smart. >> but catherine, here's my question >> go ahead, jonathan. >> what about folks who are voting republican, and leave aside the decency piece. no matter the candidate quality that he, all they want is for republicans to have the majority in the senate. they want the power, decency be damned, if i may say that. >> i don't really know how to speak to that the aberration. all i could blame lot of people
anybody that wants to talk policy. i can't have a conversation with somebody that denies reality. and i happen to believe the earth is round, so i'm going with that. >> mandy, i am taken by your decency pitch. and i am with you. but a lot of us, and both you and catherine included, we have seen a lot of indecent things. what would we say about us as americans, if the indecent actually winds? >> it's going to happen, jonathan. it's happened before in history, we all know it. people are campaigning for it all over the world. see it used to be that demagogues, kings, that's what this country was formed to try to avoid. to represent the people, so they could have a voice and their vote meant something. that's what it will go back to.
