Veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal was on Sunday conferred with V Shantaram Lifetime achievement award at the 15th Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films.
The filmmaker was honoured with the award for his outstanding contribution in the field of feature and documentary films.
The award, given to Benegal by Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, carries a trophy, a citation and cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.

India becomes 60th nation to approve Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine: Russia

India has approved the use of Russian Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said on Monday, confirming earlier reports of its imminent endorsement.
India overtook Brazil to become the nation with the second highest number of infections worldwide after the United States, as it battles a second wave, having given about 105 million doses among a population of 1.4 billion.
The RDIF, which is responsible for marketing the vaccine abroad, said the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) had approved the use of Sputnik V.
"India, the world's 2nd most populous nation, became the 60th country to register #SputnikV after positive results of local Phase 3 clinical study. Sputnik V is now authorized in 60 countries with population of over 3 bln people," a post on the Sputnik V official Twitter account said.

Surya Roshni wins Rs 299 cr order from Numaligarh Refinery

The order is to be executed within 15 months.Surya Roshni on Monday announced that it has obtained order amounted to Rs 299.07 crore for supplying 3LPE external coated carbon steel line pipes to Numaligarh Refinery for Paradip Numaligarh Crude Oil Pipeline Project (PNCPL) in Odisha.
Shares of Surya Roshni were down 7.93% at Rs 355.05 on BSE. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex slumped 1634 points or 3.3% to 47,957.24 amid broad based sell off.
Surya Roshni manufactures cold rolled steel strips, pipes and tubes, in addition to lamps and other lighting accessories. On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit jumped 79% to Rs 55.62 crore on a 12.9% rise in net sales to Rs 1578.17 crore in Q3 FY21 over Q3 FY20.

"I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself," he wrote.
Hoping to get back in action soon, Kumar added, "I am under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care of. Back in action very soon!"
