오세훈 서울시장이 김현아 전 미래통합당(현 국민의힘) 국회의원을 서울주택도시공사(SH공사) 사장에 내정했다. 김현아 내정자는 "서울시 정책을 효율적으로 집행하고, 시장에 어떻게 작용할지 고민할 것"이라고 구상을 밝혔다.
5일 서울시에 따르면 시는 서울시의회 도시계획관리위원회에 김 전 의원을 내정한다는 내용을 알리고 인사청문회 개최를 요청했다. 서울시의회는 14일 SH사장 인사청문회를 열고 김 내정자에 대한 검증을 진행할 예정이다.
김 내정자는 경원대 도시계획학 석·박사 학위를 받고 11년간 한국건설산업연구원에서 연구위원으로 활동한 부동산 전문가다. 2013년부터 2016년까지는 서울시 주거환경개선 정책자문위원을 지냈고, 국회에서는 국토교통위원회 위원도 맡았다.
일각에서는 야당 정치인 출신인 김 내정자의 임명이 순탄치 않을 것이란 예상이 나온다. 현재 서울시의회는 더불어민주당 의원들이 장악하고 있다.
시의원들은 청문회에서 김 내정자에 대한 부동산 문제 여부 등을 집중적으로 추궁할 것으로 예상된다. 특히 김 내정자의 다주택 보유가 걸림돌이 될 수 있다는 전망도 나온다.
정부 공직자윤리위원회가 공개한 2020 국회의원 정기 재산변동사항에 따르면 김 내정자가 2020년 3월 신고한 부동산은 남편 명의를 포함해 서울 강남구 청담동 아파트, 서초구 잠원동 상가, 부산 금정구 부곡동 아파트, 부산 중구 중앙동5가 오피스텔 등이다. 김 내정자는 이와 관련해 변동사항이 없다고 했다.
다만 인사청문회 경과보고서 적격 의견 채택은 SH공사 사장 임명의 필수 요건이 아니라 큰 문제가 없을 것이란 관측도 나온다. 김 내정자가 의정활동 중 주거복지에 많은 관심을 쏟았던 만큼 충돌도 적을 것이란 예상도 있다.
김 내정자는 이날 과의 통화에서 "SH공사는 주택 정책을 만드는 곳이 아니라 집행하는 기관"이라며 "서울시장과 서울시의회가 만든 정책을 효율적으로 집행하고, 그것이 시장에서 어떻게 작용할지 고민할 것"이라고 구상을 전했다.
인사청문회 과정에서 예상되는 민주당 의원들과의 충돌 우려에 대해서는 "한 번쯤 거쳐야 하는 것"이라며 "주택 정책에 대해선 여야 진영이 없다고 생각하고, (의정 활동 시절 주거복지에 집중한) 진정성을 봐주리라 생각한다"고 말했다.
