I am going to be able to get to work because i only have a block to walk but im not sure if what else is going o to happen that weekend. Reporter the city says this will be a walking event and thats true for Center City Residents even if theyre not attending the papal events. Many are getting out of town. Were actually going out of the country. We were supposed to leaf on sunday but we cant because of the pope association well be leaving going to new york on thursday. Reporter the city is not making any arrangements for people who have to move their cars out of the vehicle security zones. They say they will be posting plenty of notices, signs on the on utility poles and elsewhere advising residents of when theyve got to move their cars or be towed. Live in washin ....
Philadelphia, blank slates and for those who come through the airport, well, the airport will be the first point of contact. From areas of new led lighting to a virtual library, to improved wifi, papal visit visitors will enter an airport that has been spiffed up. Color has been added from planters and club chairs to the tile in some restrooms. Older signage like this has been largely replaced with international directionals punctuated with simple white on red arrows. Unlike septa which is gearing up to move twice its normal numbers during the visit there is so far no evidence here that extra flights are being scheduled. Airline schedules are pretty well defined so we kind of know how many airplanes are coming and we know how many seats are on those airplanes. We can plan for that but we do think it will be busy. Tracking the storm system. Weve traded the heat for some thunderstorms. The heat wave is over but weve got thunderstorms moving through parts of the area. We have had some sun peek out toward the center city skyline but the main thunderstorm that were tracking is passing just to the south of the area. You can see weve got some drizzle lingering here toward philadelphia, extending into parts of southern new jersey, but our heavier storm moving out of northern delaware and into salem county. P pennsville seeing some heavy rain right now but we did to watch as this did produce heavy rain. We actually have a flood advisory in effect through 8 15 so you could be running into localized flooding there. We have additional storms off to the north and west that will be tracking eastward the next couple of hours so well need to watch for scattered locally strong storms, mainly where we see the yellow shading.
