April the giraffe, online star in 2017, euthanized due to arthritis

In case you missed it, here's the recorded footage of April giving birth to her baby boy.
HARPURSVILLE, N.Y. — April, the giraffe that became a sensation when a rural New York zoo livestreamed her 2017 pregnancy and delivery, was euthanized Friday because of advancing arthritis, the zoo said.
"She is a precious member of our family, and while we knew this day would eventually come, our hearts are hurting," Animal Adventure Park owner Jordan Patch said in a statement.
The 20-year-old giraffe started showing signs of mobility problems last summer, and veterinary imaging showed she had arthritis in her feet and problems in her left hind leg, the zoo's veterinarians said in a statement. They noted that animals as large as giraffes can deteriorate quickly from arthritis.

After 400+ days in Texas shelter, dog returned after one day with new owners

WACO, Texas — Rusty the dog has done a lot of living in his two short years on Earth. The latest twist? An adoption that lasted less than 24 hours.
Rusty was surrendered as a puppy in February 2020 to the Humane Society of Central Texas, which has become the closest thing to a home for him after spending more than 400 days there.
Last year, the 50-pound pooch was placed in a foster home for two months and then with a rescue shelter in Idaho, according to CNN affiliate KXXV. That group sent him back to Waco because he didn't play nice with other dogs, and staff weren't able to find a home for him. The Texas shelter found him a home, which was great, but he was back after about a month for being destructive, KXXV reports.

What to know about pressure washing your house

Pressure washing is a powerful tool to clean your house, driveway or decks, but it must be used carefully.
Dreamstime
Pressure washing offers a great way to quickly blast dirt and grime from exterior surfaces, such as your house, driveways and decks. This process can quickly and efficiently freshen up a surface.
Pressure washing basically uses a water pump and electric or gasoline motor to power a high-pressure hose and sprayer to generate an extremely powerful spray. In some cases, detergents or other chemicals are used to enhance the effect.
Sometimes the term is used interchangeably with “power washing,” but they’re not quite the same thing. They use very similar equipment, but tools that power wash a home heat the water to loosen up dirt or grease.
