Wagamama chief executive Emma Woods has announced she plans to step down from the role and hand over to her internally appointed successor, Thomas Heier. The move will see Heier, the current chief experience officer, start the role from 1 June, by which point it is hoped that the group's restaurants will have reopened for dine-in service following the expected easing of lockdown restrictions in May. Woods, who joined Wagamama as its customer director at the start of 2017, will continue to support Wagamama through its next phase of growth as an inaugural member of its brand board. The People in Asia Shaping The Future Of Food According To 50 Best's 50 Next List

Louise Mabulo of The Cacao Project
Gamechanging Producer Louise Mabulo is a chef and the founder of The Cacao Project, an initiative that seeks to help farmers work sustainably and make a profit. The social venture came about following a typhoon in Mabulo’s home of San Fernando, Camarines Sur in 2016 when Mabulo, just 18 at the time, saw the impact of the typhoon on farmers’ livelihoods. Identifying that cacao plants were among the few crops still standing post-typhoon, her disaster relief assistance stretched into the longer term as she encouraged the planting of more resilient crops. The Cacao Project has helped more than 200 farmers plant 80,000 trees across 70 hectares to date and Mabulo hopes to extend her scope of work to include a series of chocolate products. In addition to her agriculture advocacy, Mabulo runs The Culinary Lounge, a farm-to-table kitchen space, which hosts workshops, pop-up dinners and other events.

Rep. Elise Stefanik: National Human Trafficking Month is over but the fight remains

Fox News Flash top headlines are here. Check out what's clicking on Foxnews.com.
Our country has faced momentous challenges to start off 2021 – the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, the swearing-in of a new Congress, abhorrent violence at the Capitol, and the inauguration of a new president after a highly contentious election. While these events have saturated the news cycles and captured our attention, we must not forget what the month of January is dedicated to – National Human Trafficking Awareness.
A horrific epidemic that too often goes unreported and unnoticed, the scourge of human trafficking penetrates our communities and ruins the lives of Americans of every race, religion, and creed.
