HCM CITY —  The Việt Nam Restaurant Association, in coordination with the Việt Nam Cuisine Culture Association and the World Food Travel Association, has launched the Việt Nam Food Travel Map to promote local cuisine and tourist destinations.
The project is the first of its kind in Việt Nam to include participation of food experts, artisans and local communities, said Lê Tân, secretary of the Việt Nam Cuisine Culture Association.

 HÀ NỘI - Industrial property continues to be a hot segment for Việt Nam’s real estate market with mounting enquiries as manufacturers seek to mitigate risk and diversify supply chains, according to Savills Việt Nam.
The sudden increase in lease enquiries for land, ready built factories, and warehousing has been accompanied by price escalations in industrial parks (IPs) near major cities.

HCM CITY — The three winners of this year’s
Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) contest organised by USAID and Dow Vietnam have been announced.
The EPICS programme in Việt Nam was launched in 2018 jointly by the USAID Building University-Industry Learning and Development through Innovation and Technology (BUILD-IT) Alliance, Arizona State University, and Dow Vietnam STEM Program.
Students from Lạc Hồng University in Đồng Nai Province, who made an electric wheelchair, won the first prize.

Việt Nam has for the first time successfully cloned pigs using the somatic cells from ear tissue. Four healthy piglets were born in March. This is an important breakthrough for the country’s animal cloning sector, proving its science and technology’s role and position in the region and the world.

HÀ NỘI — Agencies in Việt Nam and international partners have been working together to seek effective measures to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases in rice production in the country.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development last week held the first workshop on the implementation of Việt Nam's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in the rice sector.
Aiming to set priorities for NDC implementation in rice production, the workshop highlighted different NDC scenarios to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while gaining economic, social, and environmental benefits sustainably.

HCM CITY – Due to an increase in the use of computers, television and smartphones, the number of students in Hồ Chí Minh City suffering from obesity and eyesight problems is increasing.
Speaking at a recent meeting, Nguyễn Hữu Hưng, deputy director of the Municipal Department of Health (DoH), said the city Department of Education and Training in coordination with the DoH has provided annual health examinations for about 90 per cent of students at schools in the city.

HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary and State President Nguyễn Phú Trọng on Thursday presented to the National Assembly a proposal on relieving Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, as part of the 11th meeting of the 14th National Assembly (NA).
NA deputies then discussed the proposal in groups.
The NA Standing Committee will report the discussion outcomes to the legislature on Friday. The NA will then vote on the relief of Phúc from his position.
Nguyễn Xuân Phúc was elected as Prime Minister for the 2016-2021 tenure at the first session of the 14th National Assembly in July 2016.
