now. great to see you here. i m yasmin vossoughian at msnbc headquarters. the president hitting the campaign trail with five days left until the midterms. he s heading out west, making stops in mexico, california as well with new urgency around threats to our democracy. here is part of the message that he delivered last night. there s no place for voter intimidation or political violence in america. whether it s directed at democrats or republicans. no place, period. no place ever. democracy is on the ballot this year. will it actually help or matter with voters? the new york times notes this, while in agreement with the message, not every democrat thought it was helpful to make the address when candidates are trying to distance themselves from the president who s approval ratings are in the mid-40s and polls are focused on inflation as well as immigration, crime and abortion as well. and poll after poll showing in this closing stretch, it is still the economy t ....

united states refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. he refuses to accept the will of the people. he refuses to accept the fact that he lost. he has abused his power and put the loyalty to himself before loyalty to the constitution. a typical year, we re often not faced with questions of whether the vote we cast will preserve democracy or put us at risk. but this year, we are. and the last standard bearer of the democratic party, president barack obama campaigning in arizona, the state that perhaps any other battleground state has been roiled by the big lay with election deniers on the republican side picked up on the same themes, laying out for his audience, the stakes in this election this way. i lost my first congressional race in the primary by 30 points. i got whooped. i was frustrated. that didn t feel good. you know what i didn t do? i didn t claim the election was rigged. i didn t spin conspiracy theories. i didn t instigate a mob to go up on an ....

man charged with trying to kill paul pelosi and separately trying to hold nancy pelosi captive and break her knee caps told officers on the scene, this was a suicide mission. david depape was in court today in san francisco. those words are from the state s motion to detain him. cnn has obtained a copy and that s not all. we ll have more in a moment. just in, hillary clinton is speaking out for the first time about the attack. here s what she just said on msnbc. i think what we re seeing today, and it has certainly been thrown into very high relief by the horrific attack on paul pelosi, is not just an aberration where one or two people or a small group engage that in kind of violent rhetoric and urge people to take action against political figures like her, like me, like others. we re seeing a whole political party. and those who support it, those who enable it, those who run under its banner engaging in behavior that is so dangerous. and i find frankly, disqualifying ....

so tell us what s happening in the georgia senate race. look, look how close this is. this is the forecast for the georgia senate race. herschel walker with 49%, raphael warnock with 49%. normally, we don t include libertarian candidates but i have here chase all of our at 2%. why? because the rules in georgia basically stipulate that if the leading candidate does not, in fact, get a majority of the vote on election day november their will in fact be a runoff come december. and right now the forecast suggests that neither herschel walker nor raphael warnock will reach a majority of the vote. i just want to point out how important georgia is in terms of winning control of the united states senate. if herschel walker wins, the democrats chance of retaining control of the senate is just 26%. if raphael warnock winds, look at that, it jumps up to 76%. so, whoever wins georgia has a pretty good job of controlling the senate overall. and here is the only other thing i will ....

american politics. joe concha, one of many here today with us on that big story. along with our top tier mid-term political panel that joins us with their thoughts on the new wall street journal polling that i think is one of the most interesting numbers we ve seen so far. if these numbers hold up, they show huge demographic shift that may be underway in america. white suburban women that make up 20% of the electorate shows they have swung away from democrats since august. if that number is accurate, it shows a huge move. that would put plus 15 in favor of the gop with this group. let s get some analysis as we bring in mike allen, axios co-founder and co-author of smart brevity and juan williams, fox news contributor. mike, that number caught my attention. i want to go back quickly here, this is the 2018 fox voter analysis. suburban women went for president biden in a big way. you can show the split here. democrats 60%. republican 38%. so do you buy these numbers th ....
