Kenyan women’s volleyball skipper Mercy Moim has spoken of her delight at being chosen with rugby sevens captain Andrew Amonde to carry the flag at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Opening Ceremony on Friday (July 23) here.
"I am so happy for the selection," she told Kenya’s
Nation Television.
"I know we are going to do our best.
"I was not expecting it, if I look at my journey as a girl from a small village called Kaboiyo, I'm elated and even more motivated to ensure our national anthem is sung during the Olympics," Moim said.
