He is a professor of southern studies at lsu. He is a native of michigan, not far from lansing. He did his undergraduate work at northwestern before spending some time working in washington dc as a congressional staffer. And then we have gone to the university of virginia where he studied under Gary Gallagher and published his dissertation with the university of North Carolina press which is entitled why confederates fought family and nation in civil war virginia. John singleton mosby was born in 1833 new richmond, virginia. He grew to be of medium height and flight of weight. His spare complexion and delicate features revealed nothing unusual about him.
