JAY DUNN: The man, the myth, the legend … Moe Berg

It was a Sunday — a late spring day in 1971 — and the Yankees were getting ready to play a doubleheader against the Washington Senators. I was a rookie reporter at the big league level and was still getting used to the sights and sounds of major league baseball from a journalist’s perspective. That […]

Opinion: Ludicrous to claim the Republican Party is dead

Former Republican judge Mark Painter's recent screed against the GOP was nothing more than over-the-top, rhetorical shark-jumping.

Opinion: Excluding court nominees based on race is an insult to American ideals

If you want to get the best, most-qualified lawyer for the Supreme Court, excluding 98% of them from consideration certainly isn’t the likeliest way to do so.

Thumbs up: Cincinnati native Mick Cronin in spotlight of Final Four

Thumbs up: Cincinnati native Mick Cronin in spotlight of Final Four
Enquirer editorial board
One of our own is front and center on the national stage.
Cronin’s 11th-seeded team started the tournament with a “First Four” game and defeated Michigan State in overtime. Then came victories in the field of 64 over Brigham Young, Abilene Christian, No. 2 seed Alabama and No. 1 seed Michigan.
We do not forget that his career started in his hometown of Cincinnati, playing basketball for his highly regarded father and coach “Hep” Cronin at La Salle High school. Mick Cronin’s coaching journey started as an assistant coach at Woodward High School before he caught the eye of then-UC coach Bob Huggins, who hired Cronin as the Bearcats video coordinator in 1996-97.

Books by Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, including "On Beyond Zebra!" and "And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street," on March 2, 2021, in Chicago.
Is cancel culture real? Is it a thing? Or is it something simply made up by conservatives to attack liberals and the institutions controlled by them.
That’s what one prominent
New York Times columnist claims.
"THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CANCEL CULTURE," tweeted Charles Blow. "There is free speech. You can say and do as you pls, and others can choose never to deal (with) you, your company or your products EVER again. The rich and powerful are just upset that the masses can now organize their dissent."

Opinion: National unity is an unrealizable fantasy

Opinion: National unity is an unrealizable fantasy

A poster of Joe Biden with the work Unity underneath it was posted on a box on Main Street. Area residents came to the Liberty Pole to celebrate the results naming Joseph Biden as President-elect and Kamala Harris Vice President-elect, Nov. 7, 2020.
There is something weirdly deranged in the calls from people in the media and our political classes for national "unity." Given events – an incredibly close presidential election, protests, riots, arsons, government-ordered quarantines, business closures, lock-downs and impeachments – national unity is an unrealizable fantasy.
