Capturing rare and elusive pictures of a tricky aurora on Mars through its Hope Probe, the UAE has once again demonstrated its commitment to the global scientific community in advancing the horizons of space exploration.
The images of a ghostly glow known as Mars’ Discrete Aurora, taken by Hope Probe’s Emirates Mars Ultraviolet Spectrometer (EMUS), were released by the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) on Wednesday. As observed by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the high-quality images “open up unprecedented potential for the global science community to investigate solar interactions with Mars”.

CNET reports that NASA recorded a basically glitch-free flight for the Ingenuity helicopter, which once again flew above the surface of the Red Planet. It managed to stay airborne for over a minute, traveling a total of 106 meters to a new landing spot south of its most recent one. Here is the tweet sent out by the official NASA JPL (jet propulsion lab) Twitter account:

The agency’s latest and most complex mission to the Red Planet has touched down at Jezero Crater. Now it’s time to begin testing the health of the rover.
The largest, most advanced rover NASA has sent to another world touched down on Mars Thursday, after a 203-day journey traversing 293 million miles (472 million kilometers). Confirmation of the successful touchdown was announced in mission control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California at 3:55 p.m. EST (12:55 p.m. PST).

NASA Ingenuity Helicopter Survives One-Way Flight on the Red Planet--5th Test Set to Help Future Mars Missions

07 May 2021, 11:05 pm
NASA's Ingenuity helicopter has been undergoing several flights this year. This 2021 alone, it has already conducted four flights, but its latest trip to Mars is a major milestone for the space agency.
Besides the risky landing on Mars' surface, the fifth aerial trip is on a whole new level since it's a one-way flight to the red planet. The most recent achievement will open a new mission for the aircraft in another dimension.

JEZERO CRATER, MARS - FEBRUARY 18: In this handout image provided by NASA, the first high-resolution, color image to be sent back by the Hazard Cameras (Hazcams) on the underside of NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover after its landing in the area known as Jezero crater on February 18, 2021 on the planet Mars. A key objective for Perseverance's mission on Mars is astrobiology, including the search for signs of ancient microbial life. The rover will characterize the planet's geology and past climate, paving the way for human exploration of the Red Planet, and be the first mission to collect and cache Martian rock and regolith.
