The Monticello School district says Police Received a text message indicating a student might bring a gun to the high school yesterday. As a precaution, police were at the school, and students were not allowed in hallways during classes. Parents, if they wanted to, could take their kids out of school for the day. Early yesterday morning, Monticello Police chief britt smith got a message on his phone. It was a notification that someone had sent an anonymous tip about the gun threat to the jones county text to tell system. Been riding in when the vehicle hit her near the intersection of hull and delaware avenues. Police say they dont know why she got out of the car. Hols later died from her injuries. Police say 41 year old sam archer was driving the car and is believed to have been hols boyfriend. Officers arrested him on assault causing Bodily Injury charges unrelated to the incident.
