With if threat of taking away their health care. proposed a budget that supposedly is going to be out of balance. you would have to print money to put it into balance. that s going to put off the conservative wing of his party and democrats as well. this is a guy, nobody believes a word that he says because he says so many different things. it s about what he does, not what he says. he can t deliver that in a speech tonight. jeremy, i don t know if you have had a chance to talk with folks at the white house about what we might expect tonight. but does it sound probable that we would hear something on immigration tonight? immigration specifically, i think you can expect to hear the kind of law and order pitch that trump has reiterated time and time again. and that is that he wants to build a wall, that that needs to happen fast. it is an immediate and urgent priority this administration. i think looking more generally at the tone of the speech, there will be grace notes. i m almost certain of that.
Joint session of congress. what do we know? not a lot. we are expecting more details, what the plan will look like but he already said he wants to continue letting kids 26 and younger stay on their parents insurance. and people are preexisting conditions he says should be able to buy insurance. those were two keyarts of obamacare. but how do you pay f all of that? more of mr. trump this morning. well, i think that paul ryan and his whole group have been terrific. i just left paul ryan and mitch mcconnell. and paul is working very hard. health care is a very complex subject. if you do this, it affects nine different things. if you do that, it effects 15 different things. reporter: that s really the issue, isn t it? you do one thing it affects this xing thing, so on and so forth. that s challenge. republicans don t like the mandate which requires everybody to buy insurance in order to pay for the affordable care act and the laws that govern. what all insurers must provide everybody, event preventive
I ve seen a democrat being shocked about spending. this is an extraordinary moment on msnbc history being made here today. i have always been that way about money. i was ranked the fourth most conservative governor in the state about spending. the biggest criticism on the part of the democrats will be not enough money is going thrown at entitlement programs. cutting taxes for rich people and spending the money on military and not supporting poor people. it s the middle class that s going to continue to get squeezed. that s because of the republican congress. that s what happens with the middle class. jeremy, this is what i was going to ask you about, the atmospherics tonight and whether we are going to see the kind of back and forth we ve got going on right here in the room tonight. or do you think we see democrats keeping quiet and just silent protests by bringing guests into the room and that sort of thing.
