And now, what it looks like, as the day rolls on, this will make landfall as a category 4 storm sometime either late tonight, early thursday morning. Dangerous rain, wind gusts, the storm surge, and it will keep going as a category 1 storm right on into parts of arkansas, and then make its way up through the upper mississippi and ohio river valleys. Were most concerned with the storm surge. This is live threatening. Were talking 15 to 20 feet in some spots. That storm surge could reach 30 miles inland to i10. The storm surge is the deadliest part of the storm. Top of the tides, the wind pushes a wall of water up. Three feet would be a surge thats considered lifethreatening. Six feet, that blows out the back sides of buildings. The weight of the water breaks through doors and windows. Nine feet is catastrophic, moves further inland.
