Man hits Kohl's with slip and fall lawsuit


HOUSTON — A man claims he slipped and fell at a Houston Kohl's store and suffered serious injuries.  
Celida Rodriguez filed a complaint May 3 in Harris County District Court against Kohl's Department Stores Inc., doing business as Kohl's Store #544 alleging negligence. 
Rodriguez claims in his suit that he was at the Kohl's on Barker Cypress Road in Houston on July 13, 2019. He alleges that as he was walking on the premises, he slipped and fell "due to a slippery substance on the floor" and suffered serious injuries. 
Rodriguez further alleges that he also lost wages and incurred medical expenses as a result of his slip and fall. He claims that "at least one" of Kohl's employees "was aware of the dangerous condition" on the floor and failed to warn of the hazard. Rodriguez also claims Kohl's failed to maintain its store in a safe manner.

Former Kohl's employee sues over alleged wrongful termination, discrimination


A former Kohl’s employee claims she was discriminated against when her employer challenged her medical leave and denied her promotion opportunities. 
Sheree Williams filed the complaint on Jan. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois against Kohl’s Department Stores Inc. and Kohl’s Inc.
According to the complaint, Williams is an African American woman who began working for the defendants on Oct. 23, 2013. Her most recent position was a sales lead at the Mount Vernon store. Williams claims she “performed the duties of her jobs to all legitimate expectations during her employment with defendants.”
