At about 10 31 pm the department received multiple calls reporting a man was seen with an assaultstyle rifle and wearing a bullet proof vest walking in front of 100 boyd road. Pleasant Hill Police Officers arrived within seconds and saw the man in front of the apartment complex at 100 boyd road. Officers confirmed he was in possession of an assaultstyle rifle and was wearing a ballistic vest. He ran into the apartment complex. Local residents were contacted and advised to shelter in place. Residents are uniting to help the victims of hurricane maria. This morning an organization looking to help the people of puerto rico is holding a donation drive in oakland. Many lost their houses. They dont have water, food. Thats why a group of bay area Puerto Ricans formed a coalition called sf for pr. They plan to do as much as possible to send money and donations to the island. Many of these bay area residents have family members in puerto rico who have been directly affected by hurricane maria. Sf for pr is asking people to donate things such as bottled water, canned food, firstaid kits, blankets and more.
