h.r. mccaster, dana powell, others were there and he showed them something classified that certainly involved sources and methods. and i'm not questioning that he had the authority or power to do it as the it is delivering -- sitting president, but at a minimum, it was a national security and diplomatic crisis. the explanation given afterwards was they somehow edited the information they'd given to him because they had a state of mind and knowledge he had a penchant for dissemination. proving a pattern of intent to disseminate knowingly classified documents, what's in the public goes back to the early days of the presidency. what do you think jack smith has developed in private with his prosecutorial and investigative tools? >> quite a bit. even on that one episode, they had to scramble afterward to declassify those documents, putting the lie to the notion it happens magically.

think the bob corkers of the world don't trust the president to be fit to play the role of commander in chief. >> it's important, i guess, to bob corker, that it's rex tillerson who instead of being 100% focused on north korea has had to come out and deny, deny, deny that he called the president a moron. >> secretary tillerson is traveling all over the world. he's on a seven-day trip as we speak. he's going to come become to washington and turn around and go back out to asia. once we get through this asian summit, the wintser and come to the turn of the calendar, are we going to be on the brink of war in korea and the bob corkers of the world again are very concerned the president'seratin possibility. >> is there anyone in the white house who can say what jeremy just says to the president's face? >> not really. certainly his national security team, we know from the meetings at the pentagon that led to the tillerson comment. efforts by matt, i tillerson, mccaster to try to educate him
us. we can't build a giant mote around the united states. we can't insulate ourselves from problems in the middle east. this administration is feeding a situation that will actually come back to bite us. >> i know that mccaster and mattis said they want to stay in their lane and get as much done as they can, but i don't understand why these people along with rex tillerson who probably have the most influence, do something about the president's behavior before this administration literally crumbles. >> i think they need a joint intervention. you have the secretary of state, the secretary of defense, secretary of homeland security. they should basically insist on a degree of process. tweets or white house statements, they should not go out unilaterally. you can't have formal meetings with the security council. there was one and then the president changed the language in nato. you can't insist on always getting the policy you want, but
