With the rising cost of living and housing unaffordability, many families are cutting costs by moving in together in multi-generational homes. Experts say the new federal tax credit to help these families renovate is not enough.
“We are stronger as a community, and we want those in long-term care to know that they are a significant part of our community,” said MPNH Director of Community Programs, Claudine Matlo. “Letting our seniors, particularly those in long-term care, know that we are all in this together, that we care, and that there is hope is the best medicine. ” Members of the public are also being invited to drop off cards at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House. Those who want to send a Valentine’s to one of MPNH’s seniors are asked to do so before February 10.
