The ANC-led government has reneged on its three-year public service wage agreement.
Now, Nehawu is threatening to withdraw its support from the party in upcoming local government elections.
The tripartite alliance will be discussed at the union's KwaZulu-Natal provincial congress this week.
Nehawu KZN secretary Ayanda Blessing Zulu said, "one of the issues that will be discussed by the congress, will be the state of the alliance."
"Our recent central executive committee took a decision noting that the ANC-led government failed to implement resolution one of 2018."

Manhunt for FS killers intensified

───   LUCKY NKUYANE 07:19 Tue, 06 Apr 2021
A team of police investigators has been appointed to probe the murders of five family members in Namahadi in Qwaqwa in the Free State.
The appointment coincides with the 72-hour activation plan which was deployed by the police following the discovery of the burnt bodies of the victims in Marakong village on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the team will be led by the District Commander of Thabo Mofutsanyana, Major Jan Tsotsetsi. On that fateful day the police discovered the body of a woman lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to her stomach, while the burnt body of a man was found inside a burnt mud house.

Agri podcast: Rice imports to SA increase - Agbiz

Rice is one of the main staple foods South Africa imports, as the country does not have a conducive climate for its production.
This is according to Wandile Sihlobo, Chief Economist at the Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa, Agbiz. Sihlobo explains that the International Grains Council forecasts South Africa's 2021 rice imports at 1.1 million tonnes, which is a 5% increase from the previous year. He says the imports are usually evenly spread across the year, with a slight peak in volumes in the last quarter of each year. About 70% of South Africa's rice is usually imported from Thailand, with other notable suppliers being India, Pakistan, China and Vietnam. Sihlobo says all these countries currently expect a reasonably good harvest, which supports the availability of supplies for exports. Furthermore, he says worth noting is that, on average, about 10% of the imported rice each year is re-exported to the neighbouring countries, namely Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Namibia and Zambia.

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has slammed retired Gauteng Deputy Judge President Phineas Mojapelo's decision to force him to apologise for his pro-Israel comments.
Justice Mogoeng is appealing Mojapelo's decision finding that his comments at a webinar breached the Code of Judicial Conduct.
He described Judge Mojapelo's reasoning as flawed and disturbingly superficial.
In his 39-page appeal to the Judicial Conduct Committee, Justice Mogoeng states that Mojapelo misdirected himself in material respect by finding that the complaints Africa Palestine, Women Cultural Group and the SA Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Coalition were not about the constitutional rights to the freedom of religion, belief, thought and opinion and freedom of expression.
