tonight both political parties are charting their paths forward after senator rafael warnock's re-election victory in the georgia runoff. democrats feeling emboldened by their new 51 senate seat majority while republicans are bickering over who's to blame for herschel walker it was defeat. here's cnn's jeff congressional correspondent manu raju. >> reporter: the next two years of president joe biden's term now looking a bit brighter after gaining an additional senate seat on the heels of rafael warnock's win in georgia over republican herschel walker. >> after one year, ten months, and 17 days of the longest 50-50 senate in history, 51, a slim majority. >> reporter: democrats now have additional breathing room to confirm biden's nominees and new power to issue subpoenas. the result leaving republicans reeling.
